GNM (Gen. Nursing & Midwifery)

  • GNM, or General Nursing and Midwifery, is a 3-year diploma course that is also known as GNM Nursing. It is a course designed for candidates interested in a career in Clinical Nursing. The 3-year GNM course is structured into three years of instruction followed by six months of required internship.
  • Duration: 3 Years
  • Age Limit: The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  • 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from State Open School recognized by State Government and National Institute of Open School (NIOS) recognized by Central Government. However, Science is preferable.
  • 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Arts or Science

Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM)

Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) is a two-year diploma course that teaches students basic nursing care, including maternal and child healthcare, family welfare, and sanitation programs. The course also focuses on healthcare management and medical equipment, and helps students learn how to:

  • Take care of equipment and its maintenance
  • Set up operating rooms
  • Provide medicine to patients on time
  • Keep track of records
  • Provide first aid
  • Observe patients for existing or new symptoms
  • Create and maintain medical records

Eligibility :

The course has a minimum age limit of 17 years and a maximum age limit of 35 years. Applicants must have studied 10+2 (from an Arts or Science stream) and 10th grade. Students must have received a minimum of 50% and a maximum of 45 percent for SC/ ST/ OBC candidates. Admission to this course is determined by the counseling procedure.
